Postdoctoral Research Scientist
Lie Wang received his undergraduate degree from Peking University, Beijing, China in the major of meteorology. His Ph.D. was obtained at University of Toronto, Canada, on the extra-tropical general circulation with Prof. Paul Kushner. He spent several years as a postdoc at Johns Hopkins University with Prof. Darryn Waugh studying stratospheric circulation and transport.
Role at the IRI
Lei Wang works on the MURI project at IRI and Lamont. His role involves work on the intra-seasonal and seasonal predictability of extra-tropical atmospheric circulation and sea ice. Wang’s direct supervisors are Dr. Mingfang Ting and Dr. Xiaojun Yuan, both from Ocean and Climate Physics at Lamont.
